Despite the Censored Petting Mini-Game, Fire Emblem Fates Still Uses Live2D Assets

Though it’s not straight from Nintendo, we now have confirmation that the localized version of Fire Emblem Fates has not removed everything to do with the Skinship mini-game.

Thanks to Polygon’s livestream of the localized version of Fates, we’ve now seen the inside of the Private Quarters, and how it works. Once you’ve invited a given character to your room, you be brought to the last portion of the Live2D section with a voice clip.

So, while the petting portion of the mini-game is indeed out, the majority of the content hasn’t been removed. It’s still anyone’s guess as to how or if this may change for character who’ve married Corrin, but at least not everything was removed.

Fire Emblem Fates is launching on February 19th in North America and sometime later this year in Europe.
