It wasn’t that long ago that I wrote about World of Diving and mentioned how I wish there were more games that utilized the aquatic realm.
Well, I’ve stumbled upon Depth, the latest game from Digital Confectioners, a New Zealand indie studio. While the name is incredibly plain and quite nebulous, I implore you to press play on the above trailer. The game lets you play as a boring old human with a spear gun, or a fucking 20-foot long great white shark with an appetite for humans.
I’m surprised that a game like this hasn’t been made sooner, that’s both ingenious and ferocious. The environments are varied enough, and the visuals look haunting yet also terrifying—I’d probably soil myself if I was turning a corner and saw a great white shark swimming towards me at breakneck speed.
While the game is launching on November 3rd, you can pre-order Depth here on Steam for a discounted price of $19.99, 20% off its regular price of $24.99 dollars.
