Demon Slayer Franchise Set to Achieve 25 Million Copies in Circulation

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will soon achieve 25 million copies produced across its entire franchise.

Comic Natalie and Mantan Web report that once the 18th compiled book volume of Demon Slayer ships on December 4th, the first printing of 1 million copies will mean that a total of 25 million copies of Demon Slayer material (including manga, digital copies, and other publications) will be in circulation.

Shueisha (the owners of Weekly Shonen Jump) also announced they will launch a promotional campaign to celebrate. From December 1st to 18th, character posters will be displayed in Tokyo’s Shibuya shopping area- along with major train and subway stations in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

Those who purchase one of the publications at certain bookstores in Japan will also receive collector cards with the same print. Finally a Twitter campaign that will “automatically generate image replies” will run throughout December.

In case you missed it, Demon Slayer also became Shueisha’s second highest selling manga in 2019- behind One Piece.
