Demon Gaze II Heads West Fall 2017 for PS4, PS Vita

NIS America has announced a western release for Demon Gaze II.

The Experience-developed dungeon RPG will launch for both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on November 14th in North America and November 17th in Europe.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via NIS America:

Magnastar has spellbound the people of Asteria into obeying him. As the Revolutionist Party attempts to overthrow him, it is up to you, the Demon Gazer, to wield the power of demons, liberate Asteria’s citizens, and shine the light of revolution!

Key Features:
  • Demon Synergy: As the Demon Gazer, turn foes to allies and power them up using the Trance Demon Mode, or fuse with them using the Demon’s Cross!
  • Dungeon-Crawling Made for Everyone: Whether you are a newcomer or a hardened DRPG veteran, utilize modes like Autopilot to customize your adventure!
  • Love On The Battlefield: Power up your demons and develop relationships with your closest companions, even leading to dating events!

You should read our review on the first game – we highly recommend it.

Definitely enjoyed the first game. Wasn’t great but definitely not bad either. The classes could have used more depth and there were some silly mechanics like how Vitality determined your HP growth so not having a lot of VIT for the first few levels meant being screwed out of a large pool of HP later on. Or how you could berserk your demon, make yourself immune to ranged attacks, and allow your berserked monster to run rampant for absurd damage. Besides that, I really liked the music and some of the dungeons weren’t bad while also having some challenging bosses.

I was wondering when this game would be localized too. When NISA is under watch from other companies, they actually seem to know what they’re doing. DG didn’t have any bugs as far as I could tell, no censorship, and the translation wasn’t bad from what I’ve heard. When NISA isn’t under watch however, we end up with something like Ar Tonelico 2 or Disgaea D2 melting your PS3. So, hopefully, Kadokawa keeps a tight leash on NISA this time again.

The first game turned out fine iirc, supposedly the devs were watching over NISA.

I hope they bring back the player notes on the map, that was one of the funniest things while playing the first!

Wait up!, In this case it could be an uncensored and decent localization like the 1st agme was, Kadokawa is rather protective and holds a tight leash on NISA. Let’s wait and see.

Kadokawa is very strict with localizers afaik, unless it’s for actual legal reasons they won’t allow alterations.

Good news, if uncensored (which I think it will be) I’ll get the PS4 version though, I love supporting the Vita with buying exclusives (or if the only other release is on PC, or for some reason digital only on PS4 but retail on Vita) but really I very rarely actually play somewhere else than at home.

You are correct of course but I learnt not to trust NISA, Guilty until proven innocent in my eyes.

There is a good chance they won’t censor it, given that they always disclose their intentions to censor a game as soon as they make an initial announcement (which they haven’t done so for this one).

On the other hand, why in the fuck do people keep saying that Kadokawa is keeping NISA on a “tight leash”? Where do people keep getting this idea?

Careful though, I forgot which game (Criminal Girls 2?) but they just took the censored NISA version for the asia release.

True, I never pre-order NISA, show me it’s uncensored and decently translated and I buy.
