The Delta Force series has been dormant since the release of Delta Force: Xtreme 2, after the closure of developer NovaLogic in 2016.

Now, fans might be excited to hear the Delta Force series appears to be back with new game Delta Force: Hawk Ops, though it’s returning with Tencent controlling the IP.

Tencent dropped a teaser for the upcoming game with a full reveal expected for Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 22nd. The game will be developed by their Timi Studio Group, who are also known for creating games such as Call of Duty: Mobile.

In an interview with IGN, the developer’s state Delta Force’s campaign will be based on the film Black Hawk Down. The franchise itself has already covered the real-life events with a game sharing a similar title back in 2003.

The large scale multiplayer PvP offering appears to be taking aim at Dice’s Battlefield series, where they aim for higher than the previous 32 player limit of past entries.

According to the teaser, Delta Force will be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), and mobile platforms in the future. No release date has been given.
