Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou (The Family Circumstances of the Mismatched Witches) is getting an anime adaptation that premieres this year.
The series is a gag comedy set in a light-hearted fantasy world with witches. Alyssa is an ageless 200 year old witch who lives alone in the forest and one day finds an abandoned child.
Alyssa names the young girl Viola and years later Viola’s nearly grown up, but there’s one problem.
It’s a common trope in Japanese takes on Western fantasy for witches to be a race or species unto themselves. However, while Alyssa is 200 years old and petite, her adopted daughter quickly grows up into a curvaceous young woman.
This leads to embarrassing situations where the townsfolk mistake who’s the apprentice and who’s the witch. With gags and fanservice, the series is ripe for an anime adaptation.
The loli witch Alyssa is voiced by Aoi Koga who’s known for work as Komi Shouko in Komi Can’t Communicate. Meanwhile Viola is voiced by Nana Mizuki who’s known for her work as Hinata Hyuuga in the Naruto series.
A release date or studio for Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou has yet to be announced.
