Deep Rock Galactic Launches May 13 on Windows PC and Xbox One

Deep Rock Galactic

Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Ghost Ship Games have announced Deep Rock Galactic will leave early access, and launch on Windows PC and Xbox One.

The game sees 1-4 players controlling Dwarves in space, mining in procedurally generated caves, and finding resources. Dig too deeply, and you must defend yourself from aliens with gatling guns, flamethrowers, and more.

Now, it has been announced [1, 2] that the game will soon be leaving Early Access. The price will remain at $29.99 USD at launch, though the new soundtrack will be added to the existing soundtrack, increasing it from $7.99 USD to $9.99 USD.

The announcment also revealed a Deluxe Edition of the game, with cosmetic DLC.

“At launch, we will also release two new cosmetic-only, no-gameplay DLCs. Together with the game itself, those two DLCs, named MegaCorp and Dark Future, will constitute the Deluxe Edition of the game. This will be set up using Steam’s user-friendly Bundle format, so if you already own the game, you still get a small discount on buying the DLCs together. During the next two weeks, we will release more information about the content of the Deluxe Edition, but for now, we can tell that it includes a brand new Weapon Framework for all 16 weapons as well as a unique Armor Framework for all four dwarves.”

Post release, the game will continue to be supported by major updates.

You can find a rundown of the game (via Steam) below:

Deep Rock Galactic is a 1-4 player co-op FPS featuring badass space Dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters.

Work together as a team to dig, explore, and fight your way through a massive cave system filled with hordes of deadly enemies and valuable resources. You will need to rely on your teammates if you want to survive the most hostile cave systems in the galaxy!

Pick the right class for the job. Mow through enemies as the Gunner, scout ahead and light up the caves as the Scout, chew through solid rock as the Driller, or support the team with defensive structures and turrets as the Engineer.

Destroy everything around you to reach your goal. There is no set path so you can complete your mission your way. Drill straight down to your objective or build an intricate network of paths to explore your surroundings — the choice is yours. But proceed with caution, you don’t want to stumble into an alien swarm unprepared!

Explore a network of procedurally generated cave systems filled with enemies to fight and riches to collect. There’s always something new to discover and no two playthroughs are alike.

Dwarves know what they need to bring to get the job done. This means the most powerful weapons and the most advanced gadgets around – flamethrowers, gatling guns, portable platform launchers, and much, much more.

The underground caves are dark and full of terrors. You will need to bring your own lights if you want to illuminate these pitch-black caverns.

Deep Rock Galactic is available for Windows PC (via Steam Early Access), Xbox One Game Preview, and launches May 13th on the aforementioned platforms.
