Debut Gameplay for Tarsier Studios’ Hunger is Dark, Twisted, and Mysterious

In May of last year, we got a look at Tarsier Studios (Little Big Planet Vita) bold and dark looking game, Hunger. We unfortunately haven’t seen or heard of the game since, until today.

Featured above, you can view the first gameplay of the dark and somewhat twisted looking game. The protagonist, Six, is a girl who gets taken away from her home, only to be put into a submerged underwater colony named “The Maw.” The Maw is described as a surrealist and fantastical colony, but judging from the above trailer, it seems more psychotic and twisted.

Things get interesting when Six gets the chance at escaping, following an “unexpected twist of fate.” The game is made up of her journey through The Maw, which in essence is meant to give us a look into the “corrupt heart of modern happiness.”

Hunger is the first original IP by Tarsier Studios since their PS3 game The City of Metronome, which never got released. Hunger was entirely made possible by the Nordic Game Program, which gave the studio 500,000 Danish kroner (roughly $91,000 USD).
