Following a teaser trailer and flavor text for the game, developers Compile Heart continue to release information about their newest dungeon-crawler, MeiQ no Chika ni Shisu.
Here’s the RPG’s synopsis:
The setting for this story is a planet wrapped in darkness. Its rotation has stopped. The protagonist is a young woman named Estora, who, together with the Guardians, captures towers containing the protective dieties. They go on on a journey to start the planet rotating again.
Women acting as “devil machine soldiers” use robots [Editor’s note: mecha] called Guardians that they can freely customize. By combining them, they can increase the robots’ strength.
The cast of playable characters is as follows:
- Estora (voiced by Ohashi Ayaka)—The main protagonist.
- Freya (Amamiya Sora)—A prideful and belligerent girl.
- Coni (Tokui Sora)—A very naive and innocent girl.
- Maki (Kadowaki Mai)—A brainy girl with a keen intellect, and an honor student who stays calm and composed.
- Settia (Akasaki Chinatsu)—A bashful girl who loves literature and carries around an umbrella as a personal quirk.
Who’s working on the roleplaying game? There’s quite the pedigree here:
- Producers: Norihisa Kochiwa (Record of Agarest War), Naoko Mizuno (Hyperdimension Neptunia), and Makoto Kitano (Record of Agarest War)
- Director: Tomoki Tauchi (the lead on Metal Max 3 and 4)
- Character Design: Ryoji (Live a Live, Marl Kingdom series)
- Guardian Design: Hidetaka Tenjin (Macross, Gundam Evolve)
As the second game in the Makai Ichiban Kan series, Death Under the Labyrinth will release on the PS Vita this summer, after Makai Shin Trillion launches.
