Death Stranding was recently confirmed for a Windows PC in 2020, published by 505 Games. Now, publisher 505 Games and developer Kojima Productions have announced it will be coming to PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

While a Steam release for a Windows PC game is hardly abnormal, the fact it is both on Steam and the Epic Games Store is. The latter has engaged in asking for exclusivity for games on its platform.

Due to the ramping bad press of Epic Games Store exclusivity (especially when cancelling planned Steam releases), some have rejected the Epic Games Store’s exclusivity offer outright, including Bandai Namco, Microsoft, and indie developer Unfold Games– going as far as to say pulling Darq from Steam for Epic Games Store exclusivity would ruin their credibility.

The battle between Steam and Epic has just found a new battleground- Death Stranding. At least, for its Windows PC release.

In other news, a Russian retail chain has been fined 1 million rubles after one employee took a copy of the game before its official release.

Death Stranding is out now on PlayStation 4, and launches Summer 2020 for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and Steam).
