Dead Rising 4 Confirmed for Xbox One, PC – Timed Exclusive for One Year

Microsoft and Capcom Vancouver have officially announced Dead Rising 4 for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

The game was confirmed during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference, and is launching sometime this holiday. The developer also confirmed the game is a one-year timed exclusive on Windows 10 PC’s and Xbox One.

You can find a synopsis below, via Microsoft:

Frank is back in Willamette, Colorado, 16 years after the events of the original Dead Rising. A mysterious outbreak has overrun the Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall and surrounding town with deadly predators… and Frank soon realizes that what’s dead doesn’t always stay that way.

As Frank seeks to uncover the truth behind the outbreak, he faces new undead enemies, including the Fresh – newly zombified victims that will turn in front of his eyes, and exhibit superior speed and ferocity. He also has to tangle with the Evo – zombies with superior strength and mobility that mimic the behavior of predatory hunting animals.

Additionally, several fan-favorite Dead Rising features return, including the ability to combine hundreds of weapons and vehicles to combat the horde – ranging from the practical, to the practically insane. Frank also gets access to all-new EXO Suits, giving him super-strength and incredible firepower, as well as the ability to rip down objects in the world to use as weapons. From giant pipes to parking meters, the world is filled implements of mass zombie destruction.

We’re also bringing fans a new approach to multiplayer, allowing you to play together with four friends to complete missions and conquer the zombie-infested Willamette Memorial Megaplex. Or you can use quick match to join a game in progress with players around the world.

    Gotta get ready to take on that monster of a console, PS4 and not Spyshit.
    I wonder there they’ll be keeping timed gameplay.

    Even something that doesn’t have any of the charm while trying to be a different series?

    Copying=/=Trying
    I wonder who that westaboo Inafune would try to get them to cast as the main character if Capcom would want to go full Kojima and he was still with them.

    Well we haven’t even seen the real game yet, supposedly it’ll have combat, puzzles, zombies, monsters and herbs like almost every other RE; it’s just first-person now so it could double as a VR game.

    The trailer looks a lot better than DR3. DR3 looked to gritty and dark when i especially liked DR2 because it felt lighthearted, colourful and fun. Devs also didn´t know what made DR DR in the first place because after the criticism of the first trailers of DR3 they said “look we still have humor in the game” and then showed the borat swimming thingy which is one of the lamest forms of humor ever.

    Frank´s back so that´s a plus. I´m looking forward to seeing more of the game if it´s more like DR2 and Off the record again.

    Worth noting that, according to other sites, it’s a timed exclusive to Windows Store on PC for only 90 days (so we’ll likely see a Steam release at that time).

    Good, because I’m not buying anything on the Windows store and I sure as heck am not installing Windows 10.
