Following the successful Injustice Gods Among Us Comic series, NetheRealm Studios has announced a new comic series based off their upcoming Mortal Kombat X game.
The news was confirmed at this year’s New York Comic Con, and so far the only details let out are that Shawn Kittelsen is penning the story, with interior art handled by Dexter Soy, and finally Ivan Reis is doing the cover art.
Here are the first pieces of art:
The comic series is heading to digital first before print, and the story takes place 25 years after the happenings of 2011’s Mortal Kombat reboot, and will naturally set up fans for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.
The Mortal Kombat comic series is coming in January of next year, while the game itself set for April 14th across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

October 12, 2014 at 10:44 pmI understand some people are fans and good for them but I’m just sick of that franchise. If you take away the gore and violence which I’m really tired of there’s nothing there. And now a comic series????? really???
