Days Gone movie adaptation in the works, says new report

Days Gone

A new report suggests the motorcycle-riding, zombie stomping, horror game Days Gone is getting a movie adaptation.

The new report (via Deadline) says Sony’s PlayStation Productions is working on multiple new films based on their video game IPs after the success of the Uncharted movie, which made over $400 million in the worldwide box office.

The report claims the Days Gone film is going to star Outlander lead actor Sam Heughan and will be adapted by Oscar nominated writer Sheldon Turner.

The film will be produced by two production companies: Jennifer Klein and Sheldon Turner will be producing through their personal production company, Vendetta Productions, while Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will be producing on behalf of Sony’s PlayStation Productions.

Sheldon Turne is not new to the field of media adaptation. He has won many awards for his screenplay for Up in the Air, an adaptation of a book of the same name. As a screenwriter he has credits on films such as X-Men: First Class and The Longest Yard.

Days Gone was an underrated zombie game at launch on the PlayStation 4. While it had its issues, it was impossible to ignore the amount of heart that the developers put into the game, which served to help push its second wind when it came to PC last year.

Let’s hope that this film is successful and gets more people interested in world of Days Gone. Who knows, we may even end up getting a sequel of out this.
