Darkest Dungeon is Bringing Anxiety to Playstation 4 and PS Vita

We wrote about Darkest Dungeon, the very Eternal Darkness-like game that puts you in control of a slowly degenerating party of adventurers, back when it was funded on Kickstarter.

Now, the game has been confirmed for a Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita release sometime in 2015. The 2D side-scroller is touted as a “hardcore RPG about the stresses of crawling.” By crawling, I’m sure they mean dungeon crawling, as you’ll take a group of four heroes five hundred feet below the earth.

You can expect all sorts of things waiting down in the depths, but most of all, you’ll have to focus on maintaining the health of your heroes. Unlike other RPGs, the more you battle, get hurt, and potentially lose allies, the more stressed and scared your heroes can get.

I was waiting for this to go early access on Steam, but now I’ll just grab it for the Vita.

Been following it, looks good. You have to control the personalities of your team while fighting, which may or may not be fun. So long as nobody starts slitting wrists or something.
