Darkest Dungeon 2

Brutal turn-based RPG Darkest Dungeon 2 is getting loads of content, and the best part? It’s all free.

You can read the announcement below:

Darkest Dungeon II’s first content patch is just around the corner!

Our first free update since launch contains new features, exciting new content and quality of life improvements for you to enjoy.

First, we are happy to announce that this update will contain both gamepad and Steam Deck support. These features have been frequently requested since launch, and we’re happy to announce they will soon be in your hands. You can also expect the following content:

  • There is madness beneath its pallid cloak – avert your eyes! The Collector is making his return! This highly requested mini-boss is seeking new trophies and will randomly appear on battle nodes under the correct conditions.
  • We will also be releasing The Gaunt Chirurgeon. This character was designed with the help of a Darkest Dungeon II superfan named Sam through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You can read more about the creation of this character here. The Gaunt Chirurgeon will have his own unique location, The Chirurgeon’s Table, that can appear on any map. Battle here to win unique rewards!
  • Test your battle prowess against a host of new Champions! These elite enemies will randomly appear in battle as you carve your path to the mountain.
  • You can also expect comprehensive updates to the Infernal Flame and overall torch system. The goal here is to build upon the launch system and provide additional flavor, identity, and strategy for players wanting more challenge.
  • Finally, this new release will contain a number of quality of life improvements and bug fixes. We’ll be posting a full list in our patch notes once the update is available.

The update promises new enemies, the return of a fan-favorite boss and some new torch mechanics.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows (through Steam).
