Dark Souls Archthrones is an upcoming mod for Dark Souls 3, which plans on completely modifying the game to the point where it becomes a new entry in the series.
The mod takes a lot of inspiration from all of FromSoftware’s titles, especially Demon’s Souls, as it can be seen through its revamped UI.
The YouTube channel for the project recently released a new video showcasing a new game mechanic, alongside a sneak peek at a boss fight. Check it out here:
The very well-narrated video showcases some of the Perfect Block mechanics, which were not in the original game.
Some of the enemies on Archthrones seem to be very aggressive, which may benefit players who enjoy a parry-heavy playstyle, like what could be done in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The project also recently released some screenshots of upcoming areas in the game, which can be viewed below:
FromSoftware fans are eagerly waiting for this project, as pretty much every fan of the Souls series is done with Elden Ring by now.
Archthrones will release for free on the Microsoft Windows version of Dark Souls 3, but the project unfortunately has no set release date yet.
A demo, however, is scheduled to release on 2023, but no specifics have been confirmed yet.
Dark Souls III has been available for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our review for Dark Souls III here (we highly recommend the game).
