Publisher ININ Games and developers Taito and M2 have announced a new G-Darius Ver.2 update for Darius Cozmic Revelation, as well as a large update for the core game.
The new G-Darius Ver.2 update brings with it a rebalanced port of the previously arcade-exclusive G-Darius, the fourth in the series and the first to feature 3D visuals. Both the big new update for the core Darius Cozmic Revelation game and the G-Darius Ver.2 content are coming sometime later in 2021.
Here’s a rundown on the new update:
G-Darius Ver.2 brought the following changes to the game when it was first released and the update will mean 4 versions of G-Darius will be available: the standard G-Darius and G-Darius HD, along with standard and HD versions of Ver.2.
G Darius Ver.2 Changes (Arcade version)
- Beginner mode
- Switched ending (Beginner mode)
- Rapid fire button
- Game speed adjustments
- Enemy endurance adjustments
- Player endurance adjustments – Mid-bosses added to some zones
- Skip function for demo screens added
- Boss timer and timer bonus added
- Calculations for score ranking changed
- Boss attack patterns changed and added

Darius Cozmic Revelation was originally released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on February 25th in Japan, with a western release set for sometime this winter.
