Danganronpa series creator Kazutaka Kodaka and Zero Escape series creator Kotaro Uchikoshi have announced (via Famitsu) a new studio, titled simply Too Kyo Games.
The company includes seven key staff:
- Director, Scenario writer: Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa)
- Director, Scenario Writer: Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape)
- Composer, Arranger: Masafumi Takada (Danganronpa, 100 Sleeping Princes & the Kingdom of Dreams)

- Director, Scenario Writer: Takumi Nakazawa (Ever17, Root Double)
- Novelist, Scenario Writer: Youichirou Koizumi (Break-kun Core, Ultra Despair Hagakure)
The goal of their company is to do something completely new, which naturally includes creating new IP that will become well known around the world. They want to make indie games by themselves, and this company gives them the opportunity to move towards these goals.
They’re working on four new projects, they include:
Project 1 (Game) – A game with both Kodaka and Uchikoshi at the helm with scenario writing, as well as the entirety of Too Kyo staff. While the genre isn’t confirmed yet, the game’s description is likened to “limit” meets “despair.”
Project 2 (Anime) – An anime where everyone is a villain. This is a collaborative work between Too Kyo Games and Studio Pierrot. The main author behind the series is Kodaka, while character designs are being handled by Komatsuzaki. The goal with this anime is to convey the look and feel of pulp / action films from the 1990s, like Pulp Fiction and The Professional.
Project 3 (Game) – A game involving a death game by children, for children – where the kids play a death game, possibly at school. They mention the game is very shocking. Described as an action adventure, Nakazawa is the director, Kodaka is the general manager, and Uchikoshi is the scenario writer. Concept art is handled by an illustrator named Take.
Project 4 (Game) – This game is a collaborative work between Too Kyo Games and Spike Chunsoft. Described as a cyberpunk dark fantasy-like mystery experience, where Kodaka started work on the project before he left Spike Chunsoft. He wanted to imagine what kind of cyberpunk world could come from the above art. Komatsuzaki is doing character designs, Shimadoriru is handling background and environment designs, and Takada is handling sound direction.
