Danganronpa 3 Is In Development

danganronpa 03-04-15-1

According to Polygon, Kodaka Kazutaka, the writer of the Danganronpa series, told them via his translator that Spike Chunsoft is in the “very early” stages of development for a third entry in their acclaimed murder-mystery visual novel series.

The first two Danganronpa visual novels launched on the PS Vita in the West last year. Each follow a high school student who must escape a closed-room scenario by murdering one of their classmates without being caught. An action-adventure spin-off, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, is expected to come to North America and Europe, also for PS Vita, this Fall.

Niche Gamer interviewed Kazutaka-san at this year’s GDC, too, and we had an in-depth talk with him about the franchise, during which Kazutaka gave some hints about what we might expect of Danganronpa in the future. Our interview should be up soon, so return to find out more!

In the meantime, check out our reviews for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. And you can catch up on all Danganronpa news here.
