Merely two days after the Western debut of the original DanganRonpa in North America and a day before its European launch, NIS America has confirmed that DanganRonpa 2 is coming to the West as well. The sequel will be known as DanganRonpa 2: Goodbye Despair in the West, and it will be coming in both retail and digital options.

In DanganRonpa 2, players will fill the shoes of a high school student who is once again thrown into a killing game that is helmed by Monokuma. The story begins when your attractive teacher takes the class on a school trip to the deserted Jabberwock Island. The island used to be a popular tourist attraction, but it has since been abandoned – providing the perfect playground for Monokuma.

Story

Jabberwock Island – once a popular tourist destination, this now uninhabited island remains oddly pristine. You and your classmates at the elite Hope’s Peak Academy have been brought to this island by your super-cute teacher for a “lovey-dovey, heart-throbbing school trip.” Everyone seems to be having fun in the sun…until Monokuma returns to restart his murderous game! Trapped on this island of mutual killing, your only hope of escape rests in solving the island’s mysteries. But be warned—sometimes the truth can be its own despair…
