Sukeban Games have announced the release date for VA-11 HALL-A on PS Vita.
The cyberpunk bartending visual novel game will launch for the Sony handheld on November 14th, for $14.99. It’s worth reiterating the game is getting a limited physical run for PS Vita from Limited Run Games – you can read more about their other planned (or already released) physical versions here.
The Vita port for the game was handled by Wolfgame, and will be compatible with PlayStation TV. Featured above, you can view a new trailer for the game’s Vita port.
Here’s a rundown on the game:
VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is a booze em’ up about waifus, technology, and post-dystopia life.
In this world, corporations reign supreme, all human life is infected with nanomachines designed to oppress them, and the terrifying White Knights ensure that everyone obeys the laws.
But, this is not about those people.
You are a bartender at VA-11 Hall-A, affectionately nicknamed “Valhalla.” Although it is just a small bar downtown, it attracts the most fascinating people this side of dystopia. Keep your clients lubricated and you will be made privy to the most interesting stories.
Key Features
- Learn about daily life in the cyberpunk dystopia of Glitch City.
- A branching storyline where your decisions do not depend on traditional choices, but through the drinks you prepare.
- Visuals inspired by old Japanese adventure games for the PC-98, with a modern touch for an otherworldly experience.
- Get to know your clients, their tastes, and prepare the drink that will change their lives.
VA-11 Hall-A has been available for PC, Mac, Linux. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we highly recommend it!). You can also read our interview with the game’s key development staff here.

November 6, 2017 at 4:28 pmFunny how the Vita “wasn’t powerful enough” for Read Only Memories, but VA-11 Hall-A is just fine.

November 6, 2017 at 4:36 pm“booze em’ up” – should be a genre, but I’m pretty sure it’s rape in the current political climate.

November 6, 2017 at 4:39 pmWhich one is the one that is over politicised again?

November 6, 2017 at 4:47 pmRead only memories I think. VA-11 Hall-A is the one that reads like it was written by your standard imageboard shitposter.

November 6, 2017 at 4:48 pmWorth to mention the japanese physical isnt a limited run

November 6, 2017 at 4:53 pmIf that’s So, then VA-11 Hall-A Should be the official niche gamer mascot game!

November 6, 2017 at 4:53 pmVA-11 Hall-A was my 2016 goty. It’s the reason I discovered Niche Gamer and dared to venture on 4Chan for the first time ever. Also, Dorthy is best girl.

November 6, 2017 at 4:58 pmCool, if only the “””””Game”””””” wasn’t so damn boring.

November 6, 2017 at 5:07 pmJapanese physical exists in normal print (for 3200 yen) but there are no details concerning english support however

November 6, 2017 at 6:05 pmThe JP release doesn’t include english language, the only english physical release is the LRG

November 6, 2017 at 6:37 pmI was actually wondering if the game change language depending of your system’s language like certain titles do.
BaronKrause
November 6, 2017 at 6:53 pmThe games gonna be like 200mb, just download it.
And don’t give me some nonsense about wanting to own your games, we have only been owning feature incomplete alpha versions since patches/updates/DLC became normal.

November 6, 2017 at 6:54 pmI recall hearing this game had some retroactive censorship or something. Could never get a straight answer.
BFG
November 6, 2017 at 7:00 pmI only recall a very few vita titles having apparent technical issues at release
BaronKrause
November 6, 2017 at 7:03 pmIm sure there are a handful that had no patches or additional content. Still in 20 years when there is no download server the only archival version of most these games will be the emulated one with all post release content/dlc patched in, not the vanilla original version that’s on the cartridge in someone’s collection.
BFG
November 6, 2017 at 7:06 pmAnd what woukd prevent a possibility to install the patches and DLCs you downloaded and archived from the web?
Dewey Defeats Truman
November 6, 2017 at 7:10 pmI’d get this physically if it weren’t Limited Run cancer. (Might import a Japanese copy just to say I own it on Vita though.)

November 6, 2017 at 7:11 pmI’ll buy it, I can’t ignore a portable version of this one.

November 6, 2017 at 7:21 pmI’ve already downloaded it, man.

November 6, 2017 at 7:27 pmshe’s rude, full of sarcasm, blunt, etc. As a customer you can be sure i won’t visit the bar again if the bartender has foul mouth like her.
BaronKrause
November 6, 2017 at 8:05 pmIf that’s the case, what would prevent you from playing the game you downloaded and archived from the web?
Physicals awesome, but its use is only for a pretty shelf collection like action figures, not for archival.

November 6, 2017 at 8:22 pmAnd it brings one of those things to put your cup on and the OST
Leandro Teixeira
November 6, 2017 at 8:26 pmI saw this months ago on Sukeban Games FB and Twitter thanks to them saying it was gonna be by LRG I just pre ordered the JP version since I can’t even buy digital on the EU store because I have my Vita linked to the JP PS. It’s worth mentioning the JP version brings the OST (separate CD) and a one of those bar cup bases (forgot the name of the thing). It also isn’t by Scalper Run Games so if you know moonrunes it’s a better buy,
ProfessorFluffy
November 6, 2017 at 9:54 pm“one of those bar cup bases”
believe you’re thinking of a coaster

November 6, 2017 at 10:05 pmExactly that’s it, I forgot what it was called thanks for the correction

November 6, 2017 at 10:56 pmI’ll get it on sale eventually.

November 6, 2017 at 11:14 pmI don’t think that even the devs themselves realize that VA-11 HALL-A is post-cyberpunk.

November 7, 2017 at 3:01 amPhysicals are also useful enough in the case of the vita in order to save the precious memory.
And while I admit it wasnt handled the best way, there is still the possibility to back up patches/DLCs/saves through QCMA on the computer.

November 7, 2017 at 5:03 amWhat’s the iproblem with LRG? Forgive me I am not informed on that
Leandro Teixeira
November 7, 2017 at 6:12 amHey bro, give a break ok? English is not my native language and it’s not like people use the word “coaster” frequently

November 7, 2017 at 8:19 amThat’s beautiful, kinda reminds me of Snatcher.

November 7, 2017 at 10:38 amSorry if I’m missing something, but what’s stopping you from importing the US copy aside from the sweet bonuses from the JPN copy? The only thing I can think of is that LRG’s owners are overemotional, unprofessional children.

November 7, 2017 at 10:39 amIt’s just a Simpsons reference bud, doubt he was rustling your jimmies.
alterku
November 7, 2017 at 10:44 amWary of LRG, but also saw some screenshots of the devs supporting SJW ideology. Regardless I keep hearing this is a decent VN so maybe it’s about time I gave it a shot.
RHELSAGE
November 7, 2017 at 12:13 pmI already own it in every form I care about. I love the vita, but its just not a vita game.
Leandro Teixeira
November 7, 2017 at 1:01 pmIt is a LRG edition so it will be limited, and according to a friend of mine that bought one of their editions they really stick it up to you when it comes to shipping costs if you live outside the US. So it’s more of a money problem tbh
PaRaLLaXTHeTiCS
November 7, 2017 at 1:16 pmYeah, I wasnt giving you shit. Just made me think of the episode.

November 7, 2017 at 3:36 pmyeah i remember paying 15 dollardos for the shipping of Risk of Rain on Vita, due of it not being available on the jap PSN.

November 7, 2017 at 3:46 pmmy friend said he paid 20 dollars for his shipping, which if it were the case for me I would be paying more in shipping than the actual game, which is just stupid

November 8, 2017 at 11:48 amThanks for the info. Was considering looking into it but I live in the land of maple syrup and moose where shipping is often half the price of the item, so I guess I’m out too.

November 8, 2017 at 4:27 pmIf that’s so then it explains the cross-over with ROM
Leandro Teixeira
November 9, 2017 at 7:21 amWell you are closer to Freedom Land so it would make sense for the shipping to be cheaper, unless of course they’re trying to make an extra buck on shipping

November 12, 2017 at 1:40 amI swear, it’s gonna be 2018 next year, yet the political climate reminds me of Victorian England, all the way down to the Anglo Western gender relations.
