CyberConnect2 (.hack series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, etc.) has announced (via Famitsu) a brand new animation project.
The new project is dubbed simply “A5,” which is an acronym for the following key points: “Astonishing, Ambitious, Advanced, Amazing, Animation.”
Company president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama noted the project the project is completely unrelated to .hack, it’s an original new project.
While further details weren’t shared, Matsuyama noted that CyberConnect2 will try anything if they think it’s interesting enough. He said they avoid anything boring, noting the creation of this new animation came from staff wanting to make it, followed by his own want to make the project, so they just decided to begin production,
Previously, CyberConnect2 did two animation projects related to .hack, via the .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie in 2007 and later the .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni movie in 2012.
Their latest game release, .hack//G.U. Last Recode, is set for a western release for PlayStation 4 on November 3rd.
