Curse Rounds console ports launch this month

Curse Rounds is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 this week, on August 14th.

The stylish roguelike game is developed by “Tentacles Interactive” and was released for PC on Steam in February, garnering mostly positive reviews.

Though it may remind some people of The Binding of Isaac, this is a game about damage control and picking between the lesser of two evils instead of straight-up upgrades for your character.

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus a new trailer:

In a monochromatic and bleak world, each round of Curse Rounds challenges the player to choose the lesser of two evils. Unlike most roguelikes, in Curse Rounds, the cards aren’t about upgrades and improvements, but rather about choosing what will, theoretically, make your life less difficult during the game.

Features

  • Pixel art 1-bit in black and white
  • Gameplay bullet-hell: precise controls, 30 unique enemies and five epic bosses
  • Curse cards: choose your own burden in each room and test your limits
  • Endless replays: the combination of curse cards ensures that no attempt will be the same as another
