NIS America have announced that Crystar will have a Nintendo Switch release in the west, along with its release date.

Crystar is available on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Spring 2022 on Nintendo Switch.

As stated in the press release (via email) Rei and her sister Mirai are sent to purgatory. While Rei can fend off the monsters of the other side, she loses control and kills Mirai. Now she and others will have to delve deeper to overcome their sorrows.

Choose from four characters in this action RPG, where your tears make you stronger. Unlock their memories, summon their mighty Guardians by enduring Torment; but do not forget to take a little time for yourself before that Torment overwhelms you.

Rei and Mirai are sisters suddenly dragged into a mysterious world known as Purgatory. Rei discovers a hidden power allowing her to fight against the otherworldly monsters, but loses control and accidentally kills her sister Mirai. Crystar tells the story of Rei’s journey to atone and battle to bring Mirai back to life. This action RPG showcases its unique narrative through the use of four playable characters, each with their own special Guardian, as well as the use of the Tear Gauge and Torments.
