Crusader Kings 2 Goes Free to Play

Paradox have made Crusader Kings II free to play on Steam and their official website.

In an announcement on Steam, the news was kept brief. “We are thrilled to announce that to celebrate PDXCON Crusader Kings II is Free to Play! Here is your chance to get your hands on our cult medieval grand strategy game.”

The game is part of the “free to play” category, as oppose to a sale price of $0.00. This combined with the announcement most likely mean this change is permanent.

It should be stated the game’s DLC is not free, however there is currently a 50% off sale on each piece of DLC and bundles. Ignoring the bundles and at this time of writing, all DLC would cost a total of $150.72.

Crusader Kings II is available on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam.
