Crunchyroll to Stream One Piece in Europe, UK, and MENA

One Piece

Crunchyroll have announced they will be expanding the territories they stream One Piece in, to Europe, UK, and MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa).

The official website notes that the simulcast episodes (broadcast at the same time as they do in Japan) will be free to users in English-Speaking Europe, the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italian speaking Europe, and MENA territories. This will not include French-speaking Europe. Cataloged episodes will only be available to Premium members.

On Crunchyroll, the series is currently up to episode 923, in the “Wano Country” arc. All of that arc will be available for free to English-speaking territories, “including UK/IE, the Nordics, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey and Poland.”

The episodes will also be available to Eastern Europe (bar Poland), and Southern Europe (“East of Italy”, bar Greece). In that region, Simulcast episodes will be for Premium members only. All episodes launching in these regions will do so at the same time as they do in the Americas.

It should be noted that while Funimation also steams One Piece (and dubs it), the show is not currently available to users in the UK. The current licence-holder for One Piece in the UK is Manga Entertainment. Funimation also resumed dubbing the series in October 2019, after a year-long hiatus.

In earlier news, Netflix announced they would be creating a live-action One Piece series. Eiichiro Oda (the Manga’s author) will be the Executive Producer.

One Piece is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
