Cruis’n Adventure is Announced for Arcades

cruis'n adventure 05-06-16-2

We’ve learned (via Arcade Heroes) that Nintendo is actually putting out a new Cruis’n racing game for arcades.

The new game, dubbed simply Cruis’n Adventure, is an officially licensed entry within the series formerly known to be only on Nintendo or in arcades.

Developed by Raw Thrills and headed by Eugene Jarvis (one of the key staff that worked on Cruis’n USA, World, and Exotica), fans can expect the new racing game to be designed completely from scratch, in an entirely new engine.

“That cabinet is just a test cabinet, for production it’s much cooler. Cruis’n [Adventure] is designed from scratch, completely new engine,” Jarvis said. “Basically what you see there is only a small fraction of what the game will be.”

If you’re a fan of ours that lives near Chicago, the current location test has two cabinets at the Regal City North Stadium 14 Theater.

Nintendo touching an old IP they never touched in years? That’s a shocker.

I’m always confused when people are nostalgic over Cruisn USA. The cruisn games have never been good. Are they confusing it with the legendary Daytona USA? Anyway I dunno who would be excited for this, Raw thrills somehow profits in the arcade business, but I don’t think they’ve ever made a game worth playing.

That’s because Raw Thrills is practically the only game in town.

It’s kinda easy to make a profit in American arcades when there’s pretty much zero competition.

    Cruis’n Exotica WAS.MY.SHIT!! I am totally cool with a new Cruis’n game.

Every time Raw Thrills releases a new arcade game, I keep hoping that one day they’ll port it over to consoles. Seriously, Dirty Drivin’ is a game that NEEDS to be played by everyone. Maybe Cruis’n Adventure might get an NX port.

Also, in light of the current elections, they could still have Bill Clinton appear in the ending just like in the older games.

I hated Cruis’n The World. I was always a Hydro Thunder kind of guy.

Hydro Thunder was the shit! Hydro Thunder Hurricane on XBLA was good too, but if you can find an arcade with H2Overdrive, then I highly recommend playing that too. It’s from the original creators of Hydro Thunder and it might be getting a console port pretty soon. Fingers crossed.

The cabinet also had that. California speed was an example. Ofc i still wax nolstagic about 90’s mag ads, the devs were hiring lingerie models and porn stars for their ads

Nah, console versions were worthless. Without the grip accelerator it wasn’t worth playing!

Cruis’n USA was one of my favorite Arcade/N64 racing games ever so I’m excited to see this hitting U.S. shores.

This rubbish should have died with the N64. If you want a proper arcade driving game, call SEGA.
