Criminal Girls 2 Teased for a Western Release

criminal girls 2 09-05-15-10

At the conclusion of this year’s NIS America press event, they teased a western release for Criminal Girls 2.

No info was given on what platforms it would release on, nor the release date.

We’ll keep you posted once this information arises.

Criminal Girls 2 originally launched in Japan on November 26th for the PS Vita.

This means one of two things, either the first game managed to sell well in spite of itself or they’re localizing the second one just out of spite.

    Please NISA…
Don’t commit the same error twice.

They also localized Mugen Souls 2, even though I think the first game didn’t do too well (the LE was still in stock in their store until they removed it).

I guess since NIS published Criminal Girls in Japan they can get the rights cheap enough to make a profit even if it doesn’t sell well.

I am out. Fuck NISA and their censorship.

I will legit buy 10 copies of this if it is uncensored on the Vita (Steam release is cheating and doesn’t count).

    NISA, please take my money.

Knowing NISA that’s unlikely they’ve never given a fuck about their fans why would they start now?

Unless this gets a digital only Steam release, this is going to get censored. It’s a shame, as it’d be better off as an Asian exclusive if this happens.

I don’t care how bad the game is NISA, i’ll fucking buy it if it’s uncensored.

They pulled the same shit twice with Mugen Souls even after the outcry with the first game got censored so dont hold your breath.

    – Censored content

NISA, if you miss that Neptunia money, censoring your games is not going to help matters. Something to consider…

Will NISA be able to outdo Treehouse and steal back their crown for worst localizer?

  18. Tubsiwub
    February 22, 2016 at 11:42 pm

…but the first game was stupid and bad.

  19. TsukuyomiMagi99
    February 22, 2016 at 11:45 pm

I’d say they’re still in the lead. While TreeHouse may censor their games at least they don’t come with game breaking bugs and the company ignores said bugs when they’re called out on it.

    February 22, 2016 at 11:51 pm

If they’re censoring it then they shouldn’t even bother at all.

Already purchased the Jap CE version. Would buy a digital copy of the localized version for the story alone as I liked the story of the first one, and my Japanese isn’t that great yet for me to enjoy the Jap version fully.

Id say NOA by a pretty large margin. NISA has done some shady shit, but Id say what NOA has been doing beats it by miles.

  32. Radiovid
    February 23, 2016 at 3:37 am

NoA. Despite how vocal people are being about it here, the Criminal Girls censorship was actually relatively minor, both on it’s own and especially compared to nearly everything NoA is doing.

Guess the impact isn’t that great on there sales.

Cool. Good to see it still sold well enough despite the complaining. Was fearful the sequel woouldn’t arrive.

NoA censorship is no mini game also all characters are 18 the new games title is criminal women and for the fun of it change dialogue so if rape is even insinuated its now, washed over and the girl wasn’t raped but was beaten up by delinquents.
Nisa censorship some extra fog and no voices in minigame

The fact I had to make this comparison sad and priceless cause I wouldn’t buy either but a steam release where I can mod out the fog and add the voices back time to get on me boat, arrrrrrgggggggg

  36. dsadsada
    February 23, 2016 at 5:34 am

NoA. Contrary to how people act whenever NISA is mentioned, NISA has actually improved somewhat in recent times. The first CG would have been perfect had it not been for the extra fog and removed voices which many can admit is ultimately a minor change (thus creating the complaint of “why even bother”).

The majority of dissatisfaction regarding announcements pertaining to NISA today is mostly just a hold over from their many previous fuck ups.

  37. TsukuyomiMagi99
    February 23, 2016 at 5:34 am

Maybe NISA should think about that before licensing a title or releasing said title half assed. Ah I see, so NISA should spend non existent resources when it’s a game you care about how very self serving of you. Why don’t you go ahead and explain that to the people who bought games in the Ar Tonelico series, Mana Khemia, or Witch and the 100 Knight where it would overheat people’s PS3 cause fuck those people right it’s all about Disgaea.

  38. Amerilard

Nisa please don’t port it to PC

  40. Nonscpo
    February 23, 2016 at 7:25 am

I’m more curious if they’ll even bother with a retail release for this one.

  41. Nonscpo
    February 23, 2016 at 7:27 am

I’m guessing since they already had a working relationship with the licensing people over in Japan, they must have picked up the rights for next to nothing.

Heh, I thought that the Disgaea comment was enough to give away that I wasn’t serious. NISA just won’t fix jack shit unless it’s Disgaea, even then having overheating problems and crashes on a flagship title is hilarious.

NISA by far. Broken games (on release and after that), name changes that don’t make sense, censorship everywhere, jacking up the prices for EU store and more.

As far as I know, NoA’s biggest crimes are memes and relatively small amount of censorship.

  44. Ubrokemygrill?
    February 23, 2016 at 8:21 am

Why are they even going to bother after the backlash over the first one? These guys don’t have the same amount of casuals buying censored trash that NoA has. Hopefully they learn not to censore their shit.

  45. ivanchu77
    February 23, 2016 at 8:48 am

First game was surprisintly good gameplay and character wise, had a blast with it, definetly much more than “just fanservice”

really happy this is getting localized, with the backlash and this being a vita game expected the worst, at least NISA almost never fails to localize their games

Nah, just do an Asian release like what they’re doing with DOAX. God knows what horrifying things SJW faggots are going to do to its localization. (And as we found out on Nintendo, these things are swarming tech like nobody’s business.)

  52. amc99
    February 23, 2016 at 10:29 am

I dont think they will left it uncensored since some of the punishment minigame is actually more sexualized than the first game (which is rather timid imo)

It’s definitely pushing the M rating that’s for sure. However if Record of Agearest War 2 can get by with a T rating of all things then this can too. Also after seeing that footage I am calling it this will be censored by NISA in some way.

  55. TsukuyomiMagi99
    February 23, 2016 at 12:24 pm

Isn’t there someway to mod it so that it doesn’t have censorship?

  60. Cats736

It wouldn’t get an AO rating, but it would probably get an M.

None of the content in any of NISA’s games is extreme enough for an AO rating.

  61. Dr.Weird
    February 23, 2016 at 2:49 pm

considering there haven’t been mods for mugen souls and similar censored titles I seriously doubt it.

  64. grgspunk
    February 23, 2016 at 10:02 pm

I’m pretty sure part of the reason they decided to acquire it is because the company actually likes the game as a whole. It’s just that some people within the company have a problem with some of its content.

Why else would NISA refuse to ever release an “unrated” game, even though they have an opportunity to release CG as such on Steam?
