In the latest live Letter from the Producer broadcast with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer/director Naoki Yoshida, a fan posed a question to that seemed to really get him going.
They asked him if there were any plans to release The Last Remnant on the Playstation 4, or if there were any chance of the game seeing a sequel, because the game never saw the light of day on a Playstation platform. Such questions are always proposed to creators like Yoshida, but instead of brushing it aside he actually responded:
“If I receive enough requests… (hint hint)
It’s one of my favorite titles so I would like to if I’m given the opportunity.”
The Last Remnant was released globally on Xbox 360, only to get a PC release later and see its Playstation 3 version quietly cancelled. The game was the first licensed Unreal Engine 3 project that Square Enix developed, and it had more of a tactical, turn based combat system.
What do you guys think – would a high definition port of The Last Remnant on Playstation 4 be worth buying?
