SUCCESS Corporation has announced a release date for Cotton Rock With You, the latest in their cute ’em up shooter series.

Originally teased as Cotton Fantasy 2 and now officially titled Cotton Rock With You, the new game is set to launch on August 6th in Japan for Windows PC (via Steam), Switch 2, PS5, and arcades.

This title commemorates the 35th anniversary of the original Cotton series, a classic cute ’em up shooter, and serves as the sequel to Cotton Fantasy: Superlative Night Dreams, which was released in 2021.

In this installment, Nata de Cotton, a sweet-toothed, gluttonous witch, sets out to find the Willow scattered across the world, leaving the magical kingdom behind to embark on a new adventure in Japan.

The roster features a total of 10 characters

The 8 from the previous game, plus guest appearances by “Izuna,” the ninja from Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja and Ria, a character modeled after the player ship from Psyvariar 3.

Players can tackle a total of 16 stages, including 6 selectable stages, bonus stages, and the final stage. Furthermore, the fully voiced adventure segment is said to be even more extensive than in the previous title.
