Publisher Clear River Games has announced new console ports for Cotton Reboot!, their remastered version of the original Cotton Fantastic Night Dreams.

Cotton Reboot! is coming to Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 later this year, on October 22nd via both digital stores and physically at retail.

• THE ORIGIN OF COTTON – Welcome to Cotton Reboot!! This wonderful game series was born in the arcades all the way back in 1991, and then made the jump to the classic Japanese home computer Sharp X68000 two years later. That was the first time we got to meet the young witch Cotton and the fairy Silk, who set out to save Fairyland. Since then, these characters have become some of the brightest-shining mascots of the entire cute ’em up genre. Now it’s time to return to this fantastic game, completely renewed and enhanced! 
• FOUR TIMES THE FUN – There are four different ways to play Cotton Reboot! First and foremost, there is the main Arrange Mode with widescreen resolution, new HD graphics, and brand-new voice acting. You can also play a hectic Time Attack mode where your time is strictly limited to 2 or 5 minutes, or enjoy the original X68000 version of the game so you can see just how much has changed over the past decades. Last but not least, there’s an added Nightmare Mode with higher difficulty and several new enemies. (Nightmare Mode is exclusive to this 2026 edition of the game.) 
• BROOMSTICK BOOGIE – Cotton Reboot! features an optional remastered soundtrack created by some true giants of Japanese gaming history. Among them are Shinji Hosoe (Tekken, Ridge Racer), Hiroyuki Kawada (Time Crisis, Super Smash Bros.), and Hisayoshi Ogura (Darius). Whether you choose the new music or the original soundtrack, you’re going to feel absolutely groovy as you shoot enemies and fly on your broomstick! 
• JEWEL FEVER – One of the most important gameplay mechanics in Cotton Reboot! is the so-called Jewel Fever. When you shoot down enemies, you fill up a bar. Once it’s full, you can activate the mode, which significantly boosts your firepower. The points you earn from defeating enemies also increase during Jewel Fever. You can use it both to get out of a tough situation and to maximize your score. No matter how you use this new mechanic, you’re sure to have a truly magical time. 
• USE THE CRYSTALS – Cotton Reboot! is a beautiful cute ’em up with horizontal scrolling. You use one button to shoot and another to drop bombs on ground-based enemies. Defeated enemies drop yellow crystals that are used to level up your main weapon. However, if you shoot the crystals, they change color and can grant you different elemental spells. How you choose to play is entirely up to you!
