Publisher and developer Finji has announced CorgiSpace, a new collection of arcade games made in the PICO-8 game engine.
CorgiSpace is now available for Windows PC and Mac (via Steam and itch.io), with a price set at $4.99.
To celebrate the new release, Finji is hosting a Game Jam appropriately called CorgiJam, aimed at game development enthusiasts that want to make small games akin to this collection. The Game Jam is running until January 11th.
Here’s a rundown on the new collection, plus a trailer:
CorgiSpace is a collection of arcade games created with the PICO-8 game engine. Each game features simple and accessible controls and can be replayed endlessly. CorgiSpace is now available for €4.99 on Itch.io and Steam (PC and Mac).
CorgiSpace includes over a dozen small action, adventure, arcade, and puzzle games, all of which can be explored in under an hour, along with development diaries explaining how each game was created. Some games even allow you to save your progress.
In CorgiSpace, players can try games like Kuiper Cargo, a racing-based puzzle game where choosing the right upgrades makes all the difference, as players deliver goods and improve their guild rank with each delivery. They can also play Cave of Cards, a rogue-like minigame where players must clear a cave filled with deadly mushrooms by triggering bombs and creating new resources from poker hands.
Other included games are Mole Mole , a Sokoban puzzle game with a twist (bombs), and Dino Sort , a logic puzzle where each dinosaur must be placed in the exact right spot. This could be next to their favorite food (plants) or near their favorite food (dinosaurs). You can also play Rat Dreams , a top-down Souls-like game where movement is limited to dodge rolls, and many more.
