Console Archives Ninja-Kid II now available

Ninja-Kid II

Publisher Hamster Corporation has announced the next Console Archives release is the classic action game Ninja-Kid II.

Console Archives Ninja-Kid II is now available for both Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, worldwide.

Originally developed by UPL for arcades in 1987 and known in Japan as Ninja-kun: Ashura no Shō, the game is a direct sequel to the 1984 game Ninja-Kid. The game was released in western arcades as Rad Action and JT-104. While the game was previously released by Hamster under their Arcade Archives series for PS4 and Switch, this new release is based on the Famicom release, which never released outside of Japan.

Here’s a brief blurb on the game, plus a new trailer:

The Ultimate Action-Adventure Spectacle!

“Ninja-Kid II” was released by UPL in 1988 for an 8-bit home console.

In this action game, you embark on an adventure across diverse fields—including mountains, oceans, and caves—to defeat your greatest and most powerful foe, Ashura.

Despite its cute art style, the game offers hardcore ninja action, featuring wall-kicking and intense battles using a wide variety of weapons.

Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives series of re-releases faithfully reproduces classic console games for modern platforms.
