Masamitsu Niitani, founder of Compile and the creator of Puyo Puyo, has established a new company despite previously announcing he’d retire.
His new company is called Compile-O (it’s actually pronounced Compile Maru). The news comes after he retired from Compile Heart back in 2012 (which he also founded back in 2006).
The company’s first game is a falling puzzle title called Nyoki Nyoki, and it’s planned for release across PC and other platforms simultaneously later this year. Niitani joked saying if Tetris is the first generation of puzzle games and Puyo Puyo is the second, he is confident Nyoki Nyoki will be the third.
Finally, you can visit the official Compile-O website here.
