Comiket 99 has once again been delayed due to circumstances surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.
In a recent tweet, Comiket announced that the event originally planned for Golden Week at the Tokyo Big Sight has been delayed for the foreseeable future. No new date for the event has yet been announced.
Following the extension of the State of Emergency Declaration and related government policies, we are regrettably postponing Comic Market 99, originally planned for May 2-4, 2021 at the Tokyo Big Sight. We thank you for your understanding. https://t.co/vnf48Hlt9W #C99

The event, which was originally planned for the winter of 2020 was originally delayed until Golden Week in Japan. Golden Week is a series of holidays in late April and early May where most students and some employees are given time off.
Due to the recent and current State of Emergency, Comiket has decided to delay Comiket 99 to a later date.
This news comes around the same time that the Tokyo government has declared intentions to prevent foreign spectators from attending the Tokyo Olympics; and instead plan to hold the event without them.
