Code of Princess is Heading to Steam This April

A couple of days ago, Degica Games were teasing a PC release for their 3DS brawler Code of Princess.

Well earlier today they’ve just announced it and Code of Princess will be heading to PC sometime in April.

Here are some of the features you can look forward to:

  • Unlock 4 characters to battle your way through Campaign mode and even more characters to use in additional modes!
  • RPG stats let you decide how your characters will develop and collectible and equipable items let you improvise!
  • Float like a butterfly with fighting combos and the Plane system and sting like a bee with the damage doubling Lock-on and Burst systems!
  • Online cooperative play for when you’re feeling friendly and Online versus play for when you’re not!
  • Developed by industry veterans and illustrated by Kinu Nishimura of Capcom fame!

You can check out Code of Princess over on its Steam page.

Online multiplayer confirmed, that’s great news.

Hopefully the port will be functional, people have voiced concerns regarding the frame rate issues of the original due to the 3DS’s weak hardware, which should be fixable on the PC port if they put the work.

Are you seeing how shitty this game is running? It’s almost as if the game is running on a proprietary 3DS emulator!

Going by the trailer, it looks like the framerate and texture resolution with be authentic to the original 3DS experience.

    Best April Fools joke, right?

It was unlikely they’d make the sprites higher resolutions. I’ve never really seen any company do that for any port. I’d guess they’d have to remake the sprites from scratch if they wanted to up them. The background and menus look higher resolution based on screenshots though I could be wrong.

It would be funny if the cheap jap copy I’ve bought end up running better on the n3DS

The sprites look to me like they’re taken directly from 3D renders. They could have put in some effort and recaptured them at a higher resolution.

Yeah, same as Disgaea, everything looks a LOT better, but carácter sprites are very pixelated

Based on what I’ve seen, there were no real differences. Overclocking it through HANS doesn’t do anything either.

I bought this for 3DS, it was okay but not amazing, $20 or less and you probably won’t get the buyers remorse.

Game is only so-so. They’d have been better off releasing an actual updated Guardian Heroes.
