Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture

Bandai Namco Filmworks (formerly known as Sunrise) have shared a full-length trailer for Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture alongside new info for the anime.

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture will premiere its first part in Japan on May 10th, the second part on June 7th, the third on July 5th, and the fourth on August 2nd. Worldwide Code Geass fans will have to get Disney+ as the anime will premiere in late June as a series, exclusively, on the Disney platform.

The new trailer gives the first look at the anime’s ending theme song “Roze”, produced by Teddyloid and performed by the very talented Hikari Mitsushima. The new series opening theme is “Running In My Head”, performed by MIYAVI.

Here’s a look at the trailer:

The first new entry in the Code Geass franchise since 2019’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, the events in Rozé of the Recapture take place directly after its predecessor and will focus on the after-effects of Emperor Lelouch’s plots and battles.

Yoshimitsu Ohashi is directing, Noboru Kimura wrote the script, and Shuichi Shimamura is handling character designs based on the original designs by legendary design studio CLAMP. Kenji Kawai is doing music, and Junichi Akutsu is returning to design the Knightmare Frames. Both Goro Taniguchi and Ichiro Okochi drafted the original story.

The original Codde Geass anime series premiered way back in 2006 and got a sequel series in 2008. The anime was so popular it spawned an entire franchise with spinoff manga, OVA anime, and more.
