Classic 90s visual novel ToHeart remake announced

ToHeart remake

Japanese developer Aquaplus has announced a new ToHeart remake, a brand new version of the classic romance visual novel they released way back in the 90s.

The new ToHeart remake was announced during their “Big Aquaplus Festival” livestream this morning, and is confirmed to release sometime in 2025 for Japan.

Originally released back in 1997 for Windows, it later got ported to the PlayStation in 1999 and was so popular it spawned a manga, an anime TV series, a sequel, and numerous spinoff games.

While release platforms weren’t confirmed, the new ToHeart remake will include various improvements on the original, as well as a totally new voice cast. Diehard fans will be happy to know you can switch to the original actors, though.

The first of the new voice actors were announced with Kana Ichinose voicing Akari Kamigishi, the first female character introduced in the game, as well as Hina Yōmiya voicing the cheerful robot girl Multi.

More information including the first gameplay footage and more voice actors will be announced during the Great Aquaplus Festival -30th Anniversary- livestream, which is set for November 9th.
