Publisher SNEG announced lots of classic Dungeons & Dragons games are coming to Steam, following their original re-release on another platform.
Originally re-released to GOG by Strategic Simulations, Inc. back in 2015, the DRM-free re-releases of classic Dungeons & Dragons games are coming to Steam later this month.
In total, 22 classic Dungeons & Dragons games are coming to Steam on March 29th, and will be bundled into appropriate packages like one for the Eye of the Beholder trilogy. A couple of the games, though, are oddballs and sold separately like the D&D city-building game, Stronghold: Kingdom Simulator.
As these classic games were made for MS-DOS, they’re packaged in a custom DOSBox build to offer the best performance possible on modern PC hardware, as well as a special Gold Box launcher, making it easier to manage your Gold Box games and transfer parties while adventuring.
The classic re-releases also include companion apps for Eye of The Beholder Series with the All-Seeing Eye, plus a Gold Box Companion that manages dungeon mapping for you, gets easier access to journal entries, let you access spellbooks, and much more!
All of the aforementioned games are listed on Steam already, but don’t have prices yet. The GOG releases, however, ranged from $6 to $10, depending on the size of the game/collection.

- Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Three (Dungeon Hack, Menzoberranzan)
- Krynn series (Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn, The Dark Queen of Krynn)
- Dark Sun series (Shattered Lands, Wake of the Ravager)
- Ravenloft series (Strahd’s Possession, Stone Prophet)
- D&D Stronghold: Kingdom Simulator
- Al-Qadim: The Genie’s Curse
