Class of Heroes 2G Becomes One of the All-Time Rarest PS3 Titles

Are you a rabid game collector that refuses to finally sell that copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga until it raises in price on ebay high enough to the point where you can buy large plots of land in undeveloped countries with the profits? Then you might want to pre-order Monkey Paw Games’ Class of Heroes 2G.

Monkey Paw Games, who managed to squeak out Class of Heroes 2 on PSN a while back thanks to the famous savior of 1990’s RPG fans everywhere one Mr. Victor Ireland, has decided that the print edition of 2G will be available only be pre-order…and that only enough physical copies will be created to fulfill the pre-order numbers. Furthering the collectability, each case will have a holographic serial number giving you the satisfaction of knowing you were one of (probably) 2,000 or so Japanese dungeon crawler fans who bought the game in the west.

There are no plans for further releases of the game, so once this first and final special printing is done, the game will be available only in digital format. Though this is probably more a sign of the times we live in, since physical releases are looking more and more like a dinosaur that will soon find itself extinct. The success of PSN, Live, GOG and Steam have seen to that.

Unlike most of the recently released games put out by other JRPG publishers (NISA, namely), 2G will come with a full color manual and a reversible cover; A nice little feature to spice up your collection’s shelf.

The game sells for $49.99 and requires a modest $4 shipping fee. Which if you ask a Class of Heroes fan like myself, is more than worth it for the 50+ hours of gameplay you’ll get from the game.
