Sledding Game, a small little indie game that’s more of a social hangout or sandbox has sold over 100,000 copies in less than a week!
As previously reported, Sledding Game is now available for Windows PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X|S (via Xbox Partner Preview) and is currently running a 38% discount on PC to celebrate its launch. The game is also on Xbox Game Pass.
Just a few days ago, the developer reported over 100,000 sales since they launched on April 30.
100,000! CRAZY! Thank you everyone for playing. It means the world to me that I have the support to continue making games full time off of my first game on steam. It’s a dream to reach this large of a number, and you all made it happen in 5 days. Couldn’t be more grateful. pic.twitter.com/IrPIKv7Gqw

Over the past several years, games where the core experience is based on just hanging out with friends have become increasingly popular. Both affectionately and pejoratively (depending on who you ask) referred to as “friendslop” it’s clear that there’s a market for these games. But after clearing 100,000 sales in such a short period it’s hard to deny that people simply enjoy being able to hang out online.
