Alright this one had me completely geeking out over the source material – Youtube satirists CineFix have decided to do an 8 / 16-bit version of The Fifth Element, one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie itself is a brilliant combination of pop sci-fi, romance, comedy, and action – if you haven’t seen it yourself and you’re a fan of any of those, go watch it now.
If you check out the video above, you’ll get a summed up version of some of the movie’s most iconic moments turned into a retro pixel style, both in sight and in sound. While I could probably sit through the entire movie again just to see it in this style, sadly it runs only two minutes or so. CineFix has an entire series of these types of movie adaptations, so definitely make sure you check them out.
The Fifth Element did get an actual video game adaptation, released back in 1997 for the original Playstation, but it ended up as a critical failure.
