Housemarque has confirmed the release date for Alienation, their upcomning top-down multiplayer-focused shooter.

The game enables up to four players to take control of soldiers within a new military sub-section of the United Nations, created to combat a new alien outbreak, the Xenos, which threatens to wipe out humanity.

Featured above, a new trailer was revealed for the game.

Here are the game’s key features:

• Experiment with different player classes, earn skill upgrades and customize weapons and equipment to suit the way you play.
• Fight alongside your friends, or become a ruthless mercenary to invade other players’ games and cause mayhem.

• Experience brutal arcade action from the makers of Dead Nation™, RESOGUN™ and Super Stardust™.

It’s worth pointing out that Alienation will only support online multiplayer at launch – however the developer hasn’t ruled out local cooperative play.

Housemarque also confirmed that those who pre-order Alienation via the PlayStation Store will receive a 10% discount.
