Challenger Pack #4 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to Include a SNK Character

Information on Challenger Pack #4 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has surfaced- including that the character may be from an SNK Corporation game.

This comes via a listing for the DLC on the official Nintendo website. While it lists the planned distribution as February 29th, 2020, the other information is what we know from past DLC packs (one character, one stage, and “several” music tracks).

The very foot of the page mentions “©SNK CORPORATION ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.” As SNK were not involved in the game’s development, it is safe to say the character may come from an SNK Corporation owned game.

Some alleged leaks that have circulated online claim the character will be female, and utilizing a mech. While Sakura Wars seems an obvious candidate, the series has remained mostly on the PlayStation. The next entry is set to launch for the PlayStation 4, and the last Sakura Wars game to launch on a Nintendo console was back on the Wii in 2010 (with Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love).

SNK Corporation have had numerous guest characters appear in fighting games in recent years, including Tekken 7, Dead or Alive 6, Soul Calibur VI, Million Arthur: Arcana Blood, and Fighting EX Layer.
