Ceres Fauna and Sakamata Chloe to graduate from hololive

Ceres Fauna and Sakamata Chloe both recently announced their impending “graduation” from hololive.

In the context of VTubers (and in many cases idols overall), “graduation” refers to the retiring of a character. In this case, while Chloe is simply becoming an affiliate (like Amelia Watson earlier this year), Fauna’s graduation is expected to be a more traditional one with her character implied to be going away as well.

We regret to inform you that on January 3rd, 2025 (PST), Ceres Fauna will graduate from the
VTuber group hololive English.

To all fans and related parties, we sincerely apologize for this sudden announcement. We
appreciate the warm support you have given Ceres Fauna until now, and we are truly grateful
from the bottom of our hearts.

Ceres Fauna has been active for over three years since her debut as hololive English –Council–,
and has greatly contributed to the overseas growth of the group. We are sincerely grateful for her
contributions and, in light of that, have accepted her request for graduation.

Some fans are growing concerned about the recent graduations, recently Cover Corp became a publicly traded entity and fans are concerned that shareholders could possibly be changing the way hololive conducts itself. There have been at least five graduation announcements at hololive this year alone:
