Cave Announces a New Touhou Project Game

Cave announces a new Touhou Project game, and it’s set for a 2022 release in Japan.

The news that Cave announces a new Touhou Project game came via an internal press release from the company (via Games Jouhou).

While Cave is known for making fan-favorite shoot ’em up and bullet hell games like Mushihimesama, DoDonPachi, Deathsmiles, and more, the company is teasing they’re putting all their expertise into the development of this new game.

Cave recently re-released one of their classic shoot ’em ups Mushihimesama for Switch, and are planning to release other classic shmups like Espgaluda II and DoDonPachi Resurrection for Switch as well.

Further details weren’t shared – but we’ll keep you guys posted.
