Developer Digital Sun announced Cataclismo has hit full release, bringing their hybrid base-building and tower defense game to a 1.0 build.
The big 1.0 release for the game brings with it the final parts of its story campaign, a new biome, and a new game mode alongside a host of other additions and improvements.
Cataclismo has left early access and hit full release for PC via Steam, and is also now on GOG and the Epic Games Store. The base-building strategy game was originally released in early access back in July 2024.
Here’s what to expect in the full release, plus a new trailer:
- A new building piece that was previously available only to Kickstarter backers. It has a high cost and can teleport units in the same way the Citadel does.
- The final form of the Survival game mode which comes with new roguelite mechanics and plenty of quality-of-life improvements from testing.
- The Depths biome –a murky, new setting that will be available in Campaign, Survival, Skirmish, and the Level Editor. It also comes with a unique mechanic tied to darkness and light levels.
- Opaline horrors. These pearlescent versions of horrors have never been exposed to light and, therefore, are more vicious and menacing than the other creatures of the Mist.
- Six new missions to finish off the single-player campaign, most of which will be set in the Depths biome.
- Another wave of improvements, balancing, tweaks, and bug fixes, all based on feedback from the early access period.
- A makeover for Iris Renegate, the hero, including a new set of skills.
