Cartoon Network website shut down, now redirects to Max

Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network’s website has been shut down, redirecting users to HBO’s streaming platform site Max. All of the site’s content has been removed, including videos.

“Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required),” the pop up reads. “Sign up for Max, where you can also create a Kids Profile with ratings restrictions and additional privacy protections to keep it fun and kid-friendly! Cable subscribers, continue to watch Cartoon Network on your TV and connected apps as well!”

The pop-up users guides the users to see their Cartoon Network shows on Warner Media’s Max service instead, requiring a paid account and also a Kids Account for a more restricted child-oriented viewing.

The move comes after Boomerang, a streaming service and formerly a Cartoon Network block, was shut down a week ago. Boomerang itself will be folded into Max on September 30.

Cartoon Network also shares the same block as Adult Swim, an adult cartoon and anime block. Toonami, a more straightforward anime block, was also part of Cartoon Network in different incarnations through the years.
