Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, developed by Tamsoft.
Based on the classic 1980’s Captain Tsubasa manga by Yōichi Takahashi, the game will tell the “chronicles the athletic exploits of Tsubasa Ozora and the glory and success his teammates experience under his leadership.”
The game will feature offensive and defensive “super moves” reflecting the wild depiction of the sport in the original manga. It will also feature a story mode, local and online versus modes. In addition, the game will feature Japanese voice-over with subtitles in English, Neutral-Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
The manga and its sequels have sold an estimated 82 million copies, making it one of the top 20 selling manga of all time.
