Capcom Announce Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Movie Crossover Event

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Movie Crossover

Capcom have announced a crossover event in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to celebrate the upcoming launch of the live-action movie.

Starting December 3rd, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will have two limited time Event Quests where players can play as the movie’s main character Artemis; voiced and played in the film by Milla Jovovich. Much like the film, while Artemis speaks English, the natives will speak the “Monster Hunter Language.”

The two-part quest starts with The New World, with Artemis fighting down a Black Diablos in the Wildspire Waste. Clearing this quest will net you the materials to craft the Artemis α+ armor set; inspired by Artemis’ armor in the movie. The armorset features Earplugs, Health Boost, Stun Resistance, and the set bonus of Hasten Recovery and Great Luck.

The second part is To Our World, tasking players to fight Rathlos. Clearing this quest will have a surprise reward, but one of the known rewards is being able to craft the Artemis Layered Armor.

Finally, a special item pack will be available to celebrate the cross over. This includes an Earplug Jewel+, along with 30 Ancient Potions, 30 Dusts of Life, 10 Golden Eggs, and three True Armor Spheres. The pack can be obtained logging in from November 26th, until December 2nd.

You can find the trailer for the cross over and screenshots below.

You can find the full rundown of the movie (via a prior trailer video description) below.

“Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.”

Monster Hunter premieres December 30th, 2020.
